The University of Liverpool
I joined AAPE (UK) committee in March 2016 as a co-opted member and as the sole AHP (Orthoptist by profession) but was recently appointed as Secretary. My remit extends to increasing membership and wider engagement and to ascertain AHPs’ perceptions of the multi-professional Advanced Practitioner via a survey.
I have lectured for the BSc (Hons) Orthoptics at the University of Liverpool for over 20 years before becoming the Academic lead for Health Sciences CPD. Here, I liaise with a range of stakeholders to identify learning needs of practitioners and thus design, develop and deliver both non-credit CPD and credit-bearing modules for both MSc Advanced Practice students and other practitioners wishing to undertake stand-alone CPD.
I am passionate about providing a quality educational experience for professionals to deliver high quality patient care and am keen to support the ongoing development of advanced practitioners through my role with AAPE and at the University.
