My diverse working history as an RGN/RM spans over 30 years initially within medicine and cardiology. Latterly I undertook various nurse management roles, prior to pursuing a career in education. I served as a PCT Board member, contributed as clinical advisor for a triage software package company and am presently a representative on the NW RCN Regional Board. I initially graduated with a BSc Psychology followed by a PGCE and subsequently an MSc in Health & Social Care and am currently undertaking a PhD by publication with a focus on emotional intelligence. More recently, I worked as an APLF and Senior Lecturer/Programme Leader, in Advanced Practice. I completed 5 years of external examining and validations. Currently I lecture on the MSc Advanced Practice & NMP Programmes at Salford University, have AP related publications and continuing research. I have served as an AAPE committee member for over 2 years and am passionate about the development of the role.
