Eighteen years nursing was followed by completing a MSc at Warwick University then lecturing in Nursing at the University of Hull and subsequently becoming Head of Nursing Developments at the Open University. Doctoral research at King’s College London followed exploring the learning needs of senior healthcare professionals completing Higher Degrees. Longstanding Programme Directorship of a dynamically developing MSc Advanced Practice programme at Birmingham City University was complemented by Master’s and PhD supervision also recruiting students in the Netherlands. Many graduates became non-medical consultants and leaders in healthcare. Visits to India and Vietnam disseminating information about Advanced Practice at meetings and conference presentation. A longstanding passionate committee member of the Association of Advanced Practice Educators UK (AAPE UK) involved with lobbying the DH and NMC.
I conducted and presented research into syllabi of Advanced Practice programmes in the UK. Current research for AAPE UK involves exploration of the variety of OSCE conducted in different Universities to assess Advanced Practitioners.Email
